Shopping / Retail Centers
Chula Vista offers a balanced menu of retail opportunities ranging from the large Chula Vista Center mall and picturesque shops on Third Avenue in downtown, to specialty “lifestyle centers” in the eastern part of the city to numerous neighborhood, community, and street retail centers of all sizes throughout the city. Many of the centers incorporate community gathering spots or residential options within their design. A partial listing of Chula Vista’s retail centers noting leasing agent, size and major tenants, follows.
THIRD AVENUE VILLAGE
Downtown, tree-lined Third Avenue is the historic heart of Chula Vista. The four-block specialty retail and service corridor connects over 350 businesses, offering a variety of shopping and dining opportunities. Downtown Chula Vista is the site of a weekly Farmers’ Market, a seasonal Antique Auto Show, the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration, Lemon Festival, Pet Fest, and a spectacular evening Starlight Parade held annually in early December. Many civic activities and events are held in the City’s Memorial Bowl Park that fronts Third Avenue. The Third Avenue Village Association provides information on businesses and events in downtown.
